What is an Abandoned Mobile Home?
An abandoned mobile home is one that has been left on someone else’s property without consent, typically in a state of neglect or disrepair. It may be considered abandoned if the homeowner has not claimed the property or made any effort to maintain or remove it within a reasonable timeframe. In these cases, the property owner where the mobile home is located may pursue legal action to resolve the matter.
A Mobile Home is abandoned if:
- “Abandoned mobile home” means a mobile home that has been left vacant by all tenants for at least 90 days without notice to the landowner and when there is evidence of one or more of the following:
- A tenant’s failure to pay rent or fees for 90 days;
- Removal of most or all personal belongings from such mobile home;
- Cancellation of insurance for such mobile home;
- Termination of utility services to such mobile home; or A risk to public health, safety, welfare, or the environment due to such mobile home.
